Episode #008: "Retirement Home Death Star" - Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi [UPDATED]

Another entry! Another step closer to The Force Awakens. This is part 3 of 4 in our Month of the Force Journey; We've made it to the end of the original trilogy with Steve and Logan - this time we talk more about the tone of the film, a smidge more on symbolism and then round out the episode with a NEW, FRESH look at the Force Awakens Trailer.

New guest of course, Akshay, has joined us for the first time in Studio. Plenty of laughs to be had, so please...ENJOY!

[UPDATE: We've addressed the issue of intermission music left in the middle of the episode, sorry about that guys!]

Episode #007: "Gotta Get the Boba" - Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back

Part 2 of our 4 part journey as we revisit a galaxy far far away. We tackle Episode 5 and get Steve's first impression, welcome a new friend of the show Logan and then dive into the deeper end of the pool and discuss the symbolism involved in the Star Wars saga.

The whole crew reunited for the first time but it was shortly lived. Tony and Danny departed around the 29 minute mark; intermission is at the 30 minute mark.

Here's the Yoda clip Logan mentions is one of his favorite laughs from the movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlKoiJu9TsQ

And the image of the stop motion animator Danny had shown us.

And lastly, the image Logan showed us on the former canon characters that are not affected by the Force.

Episode #006: "First Impressions" - Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope

It is officially Month of the Force. Star Wars Episode 7 is around the corner and the hype could not be anymore...hypier... (You can quote me on that). But leading up to the films we wanted to revisit the original trilogy and along the way we found out our good friend Steve has never seen any of the movies! Cue TheFilmGeeks Intro sound clip.

This episode marks something we did for the first time; Take someone who has never seen a film and get their pre impressions and first impressions on tape. No better place to start than with STAR WARS. Now a couple of people have expressed they like shorter episodes and so...we will keep it short and sweet..Sort of.

This week we will be dropping TWO episodes for your enjoyment. In efforts to release the Star Wars episodes AND hit Force Awakens in a decent window of time, we're going to give you guys Episode 4 now, Episode 5 on Friday and Episode 6 on Monday. Episode 5 will be a doosie - its loaded with a ton of content, so we will keep this episode rather short. A dicktease if you will.

Episode #005: "Classy Done" - Disney Live Action Films & Cinderella

Why yes...you are reading this correctly, I said Cinderella. It's time we stop and get in touch with our feminine side. This movie review came about after the boys highly recommended Neil watch the film and give his first impressions on the mic. And boy....it sure was a movie! Jokes aside, the film actually held up and afterwards we talk about other upcoming Live Action Disney films. Give it a shot will ya.

Cinderella Review starts a minute and a half into the episode; Disney Live Action starts right at the 30 minute mark.

Episode #004: "Blue Collar Beginnings" - Action, Stunts, and FilmGeek Interview with Tim Losee

This episode was our first 1 on 1 episode as we met with a good friend Tim Losee. Tim comes to us with a background in acting and stunt work; we delve into his origin story and then move our way into his favorite genre - Action films. And c'mon who doesn't love action films? We spoke quickly on all the major things that action movies nowadays do a great job in delivering and what good stunt work will always entail, but it still managed to be quite a lengthy episode. Enjoy all!

Yes I am warning you now - (No it's not how many times I said Kids) I was heavily drugged in this episode as I had had my wisdom teeth removed the day prior. But the show must go on.

Brace yourselves... A drugged up Neil is coming.

Episode #003: "Kids" - FilmGeek Interview with Director Brett Simmons

We've done it. We're on the map. We've landed our first interview...and with a director no less!

Director Brett Simmons is a good friend of the show, and someone whom we've had the utmost pleasure of knowing for a few years; he and his wife, Rebecca, graciously allowed us to record an episode with him. We want you all to get to know him as well as we do, so for our first episode with him, naturally, we did what any good superhero story should start with....an origin story. Brett talks about his love and passion for films, storytelling and how he got started in the industry.

But you need not read about the episode. Why not give it a listen instead!

WARNING: I say "Kids" way, way, way too much in this episode. I will shock therapy that word out of my vocabulary but until then, bare with me..

Episode #002: "Bonobos" - Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

Introducing our first ever geek co-host Brittani! Let's get down to some monkey business and talk Dawn of the Planet of the Apes!

A sequel to the remake of a geek classic, Matt Reeves and company delivered a solid second entry to a refreshed franchise. We all loved the film and decided it needed to be discussed...so with no further delays...your episode....
